After the ministers leave, the emperor helplessly helps the empress to her feet. Ye Tinglan wraps his arms around Feng Yunzheng's neck, his foxlike eyes full of affection. "A-Zheng, tell me. Have they gotten too big for their britches, or am I not strong enough to wield a blade anymore?"
PS: Dual POV, younger gong, devoted couple, court intrigue, happy ending. Both the gong and shou speak their minds. The shou is a foodie. At first, the gong is a prince and the shou is a general. Later, the prince becomes emperor and the shou becomes empress.
The title comes from: "The mountains are lush and proud, as if they grow more charming just for my return."
Theme: The warmth fate owes us will eventually make up for its cruelties
