When Your Parents Are Delinquents [The 1990S]

Suihe's father was a delinquent, and her mother was a rebellious girl. The two fell in love at first sight in a dance hall in the 1990s, and not long after getting together, they had Suihe. Two aimless people had a child. At first, they carried on as usual, playing around and calling up their friends on the street, having the time of their lives. But it didn't take long for them to realize that if you don't take proper care of a child, they really can die. Suihe was raised in fits and starts until she was three. Some of her parents' old friends returned to normal lives, some married and had children under their parents' arrangements, and some committed crimes and went to prison. The two of them were left with a child, nearly starving to death on the street. Later, Suihe's father found work as a laborer at a construction site, barely managing to support his wife and daughter. When Suihe was ten, her father took a dangerous job so she wouldn't grow up to be like them, living an aimless life at the bottom of society. He fell from the twelfth floor and died on the spot. Suihe's mother was left to raise her while working odd jobs. By the time Suihe was twenty-seven, her forty-five-year-old mother had grown so old from years of toil that she looked fifty or sixty. Their impoverished home and hard struggle to make ends meet led to another earth-shattering fight between mother and daughter. In the middle of their argument, Suihe stormed out and was struck by a truck right outside their home. In the final second before her consciousness faded, she saw the terror on her mother's face.
