Shi An waved a hand. “I just barely escaped with my life from the traitors. How can you do this to me?”

Shi An didn't want to hide, either. The problem was, this Shi An wasn't the same “Shi An” as before.
So Shi An was dumped in an inconspicuous department, the Old World Exploration Bureau, where she could coast until retirement.
Coworker: We just detected a new ruin.
Shi An (hoisting a shovel): I'll go, I'll go!
Coworker: A newly excavated ancient tomb contains a sword that can construct a [Synesthesia World].
Shi An (picking up a connection helmet): I'll go, I'll go!
Coworker: Today...
Shi An: I'll go, I'll go!
Coworker: We're going out for dinner today.
Shi An: Then I'm not going.
Three hundred years before the New Era, all kinds of disasters swept across the globe. The Old World civilization crumbled in an instant beneath the calamities.
The surviving humans gave everything they had to build the Firmament, raising a shelter called Noah's Ark.
A century later, the Old World's civilization had vanished, but humanity still had an instinct to seek its origins.
After a public vote, Noah's Ark opened the Firmament for the first time. But instead of finding the scattered remnants of a lost city, they encountered all kinds of monsters beyond the power of language to describe.
Humanity collectively called them “demons.”
