Next story coming up (in progress)
A spoiled, willful young lady who does whatever she wants x a frail yet powerful, gentle and beloved man
When Su Zhao was young, she was born to a life of privilege and did whatever she pleased.
After her family fell from power, her fiance, the master of the Yuqing Sect and the world's greatest demon hunter, protected her.
In a demon-hunting clan filled with powerful people, Xie Youning's name still stood out. There was no one else like him: despite being plagued by illness, he remained as pure and gentle as moonlight, cool and serene.
He shielded her from every storm, let her do as she pleased, and indulged her every whim.
Su Zhao actually hated him.
She hated his eyes, always warm and calm, yet reflecting everyone who looked into them, not just her.
She hated how, despite his frail and sickly body, he stubbornly held the sect together, coughing blood and enduring pain alone in the dead of night.
And yet the last thing he did before he died was give her the sect master's seal, allowing her to claim the status and wealth that others could only dream of with ease.
He had prepared a safe path for her, as long as she would only behave herself a little.
But Su Zhao had never known the meaning of behaving herself. She was willful and unruly, doing only what she liked, and single-handedly turned the great immortal sects upside down.
That day, blood soaked her clothes and spread across the snow.
Looking at the crowd of people who had come to arrest her, Su Zhao felt only bored.
Then the wind and snow fell silent, and that familiar figure once again stood before her, just as he had so many times in life.
His plain white sleeves fluttered in the wind and snow as he turned his cool, gentle gaze toward her.
Snow passed through his figure, carrying his voice with it.
He said:
"My fiancee is still young, and my frail body cannot stay by her side for long. I only ask that you remember our past ties..."
"And do not bully her."

Countless demons and ghosts had died by Xie Youning's sword, yet he remained cool and gentle, like moonlight.
Countless people admired him and lamented that fate had been cruel to such a gifted young man. It had given him extraordinary talent, yet saddled him with an incurable illness.
People always said he indulged Su Zhao too much.
He would only smile faintly when he heard them.
He remembered the day he first met Su Zhao.
Snow covered the ground and the corpses beneath it. The cold cut to the bone.
She stood in the storm, her hair disheveled and her body covered in wounds, yet she still gripped her broken sword. Her eyes brimmed with a drive to rise above it all, a vitality he longed for but had never possessed.
Even then, he thought: a life so radiant deserves the very best the world has to offer. She should always be confident, always bright, always dazzling.
At the very least, she should never have to be like him...
