I Am the Only Child of the Nine-Thousand-Year-Old Eunuch

Yulin transmigrates into the body of a young eunuch who has just been bought into the palace and is bullied at every turn.

The dynasty is in the last years of its brief period of brightness. The emperor's power is waning, and eunuchs hold the reins. In two years, the infamous traitor known as the Ninth-Thousand-Year-Old will ascend the throne, and the whole dynasty will be driven to ruin by that madman.

Yulin looks down at his small hands, covered in chilblains. "..."

Where's the promised child of destiny?! Where's my powerful backer? Someone, give me one!

.

When Wei Jinnian, the future Ninth-Thousand-Year-Old, was young, his entire family was slaughtered. With no close relatives left, he abandoned his past to pursue revenge and entered the palace as a laboring eunuch.

In the end, he killed his enemies with his own hands and dominated the entire court. Even the emperor had to step down from his carriage and respectfully address him as "Teacher."

But once his bloody vengeance was complete, it only made him more sinister and cold, his moods and methods increasingly unpredictable.

People call him cruel and vicious. So what if his name stinks for a thousand years?

The wronged have become dry bones. He is no longer the spirited young man he once was. The ashes in his heart will sooner or later bring him and this chaotic age down together.

Until one day, a young eunuch throws himself at his knees, tilts up a delicately pretty face, and smiles awkwardly. "Hi... Dad. I mean, don't you think we look kind of alike?"

Wei Jinnian: "..."

.

Everyone in the country knows that the powerful eunuch in the inner palace has gone mad.

He's developed anxiety about raising a child.

He's stopped bothering with the Eastern Depot and the Office of Punishments. Instead, every day he summons the finest and brightest to come up with career plans for the son he got for free, asking if the boy has found his direction in life.

Yulin is speechless. "...Dad, shouldn't I learn to read before you start pushing me to succeed?"

One day, Wei Jinnian makes Yulin compete with the emperor, who is the same age as him, in an essay-writing test. When it's over, he stares at the papers, his face dark as water. "If you can't pass the imperial exam and become the top scholar, what else will you do?"

Yulin kicks the emperor under the table, signaling for him to speak up on his behalf.

Wei Jinnian notices and turns to the silent young emperor. After thinking for a long moment, he says, "That works too. You can be emperor, then."

The young emperor, who has endured humiliation and sworn to overthrow the eunuchs: "?"
