Sorry, everyone. The deadline to enter the writing competition I'm participating in is coming up, so this novel will be on hiatus while I focus on my competition entry. Updates will probably resume in about six months. If you're interested, add it to your reading list, and I'll see you in six months.
When Lin Wu learned that the madman had defied the emperor's order in court for her and refused to marry the mad princess, she wasn't moved at all. She didn't dare make a move, either…
The story takes place in the autumn of Renli Year Four, after a devastating plague.
Depression is nothing unusual these days, but Lin Wu doesn't have time to be depressed. She's too busy making money. Her treatments aren't traditional prescriptions. She's developed her own “Forget Your Worries” therapy, tailoring each treatment to the individual. Everyone she's treated says it works wonders. The method can't cure the condition, only relieve the symptoms, but for those suffering from depression, it's like a breath of air when they're drowning.
One day, people from the prime minister's residence in the capital come to her, having heard of her reputation.
The patient is Chen Yu, the prime minister's second son, who's been suffering from depression for years. Lin Wu can tell at a glance that his condition is severe. Sure enough, none of her treatments work. Strangely, though, he grows more proper, courteous, and gentle by the day, making everyone in the residence think she's cured him.
Only Lin Wu knows the truth: his depression is an act. He's genuinely crazy. When he goes crazy, he'll hold out her shoes for her.
And he won't let her put them on herself…
