Xu Xining grew up dependent on relatives, constantly subjected to their cold stares. When her aunt once again arranged a blind date for her, Xu Xining chose to come out publicly.
Threatened with being sent to a hospital to be reformed and cut off from the family, Xu Xining had prepared for this and knew when to make a clean break. She headed to Yunlian Mountain to find inspiration and clear her mind.
On her first day at a guesthouse on Yunlian Mountain, Xu Xining found a beautiful calico cat.
The cat was cute and clingy, but also very proud. It had to be coaxed into eating and held to sleep. Every day, it wrapped its fluffy tail around Xu Xining, who was delighted and even brought the little cat along when she went into the mountains to find inspiration.
After all, nobody else understands the joy of having a cat!
-
But gradually, Xu Xining began to feel that something was strange.
For example:
When she opened the window in the morning, birds lined up on the branches, chirping, "I will bring the most brilliant flowers to the mountain god's beloved pet!"
Xu Xining: ?
At noon, on her way back to the guesthouse, a red panda and a rabbit she ran into placed wild fruit in front of her and whispered, "I hope the mountain god's two-legged creature will like these delicious fruits."
Xu Xining: ?!
And then, after dinner that evening, as she was about to go upstairs, she saw the kindhearted guesthouse owner sprout red fox ears and a tail...
Xu Xining: ?!?
Realizing that something was very wrong, Xu Xining hurriedly packed her bags, ready to make a run for it with the cat. But just as she tried to put the cat in its carrier, it suddenly transformed into a stunning beauty with cat ears and a tail, her bearing cool and aloof, like snow and lotus blossoms.
The mountain god cat, whom all the fuzzy creatures adored, looked at her innocently and asked, puzzled, "...You don't like me?"
-
As the mountain god of Yunlian Mountain, the cat had recently found a two-legged creature.
The two-legged creature was sensible, good-tempered, and didn't need to be fed. The cat liked her very much in every way.
The mountain god decided to carefully raise a two-legged creature.
And so the mountain god began keeping a record of her care:
1. Two-legged creatures are fragile and easily hurt. I must stay close to her.
2. Sometimes the two-legged creature feels sad, but I can cheer her up by playing with her using my tail.
3. The two-legged creature is obedient and sensible, and even feeds me herself. All I have to pay is one hug.
But as she continued writing, the mountain god began to wonder.
Later, the mountain god carefully wrote:
99. When she's happy, I'm happy. When she cries, I feel sad. I want to give her all the treasures I've kept safe.
100. I like her. I like Xu Xining.
