There’s a Reason Everyone Hates You

Tu Kui was ostracized.

There were no insults or bullying. She was simply ignored.

Her childhood friend never spoke to her at school. Her deskmate did talk to her, but with a distant attitude and only a few words at a time.

Tu Kui began to dread going to school. She curled up and hugged herself as a powerful wave of nausea surged from her stomach.

But the female ghost she happened to meet in the equipment room accepted her tenderly. She didn't care about Tu Kui's cowardice or meanness, or any of her flaws. She only furrowed her brow slightly, as if feeling sorry for her. Her cold, pale fingers rested against Tu Kui's cheek as she promised, "I'll take care of you."

It was nothing but simple affection.

A crazed thought struck Tu Kui: keep her here.

Use her scars and vulnerability to keep this female ghost by her side.
