Rekindled love | The chase to win her back | Adorable kid as matchmaker
Fake young master | Runaway pregnancy | Mystery and revenge | Two powerful leads
Esports genius Liu Zifan was once Lin Yiyi's whole world.
Until she discovered his "scheming" and left without looking back.
Four years later, at a live-streamed parenting show,
Lin Yiyi held a three-year-old child whose features were the spitting image of a miniature version of him.
"Mister, you look just like my dad!"
Liu Zifan's heart stopped. "Who's her dad?"
Lin Yiyi replied without changing expression, "He's dead."
Later, he cornered her by the door, eyes red, and learned the truth:
During those four years, she had given birth to their child all by herself.
And he hadn't even known she was pregnant.
"Lin Yiyi, I don't want to pretend anymore."
"I want to spend my whole life proving that I'm worthy of you, and worthy of our child."
[He thought she hated him to the bone, never knowing she'd kept a family for him in secret.]

"Beep. Identity confirmed. Welcome home."
The gate slowly swung open, and she rushed inside as if a flood of wild beasts were chasing her.
Just as the gate was about to close, a long, soaked hand suddenly thrust through the gap.
"Ugh!" Liu Zifan grunted as the hard metal frame clamped down on the back of his hand.
When blood mingled with rainwater and trickled down, Liu Zifan didn't back off. Instead, he summoned all his strength.
With a bang, he forced the smart gate open through the pain and squeezed inside.
He stood by the entrance, drenched from head to toe, looking like a drowned rat. He couldn't have been more miserable.
Rain dripped from his hair in a steady stream, gathering into a small puddle at his feet.
He was a stubborn rock who would rather be submerged than move, and his gaze on Lin Yiyi was startlingly bright.
Seeing his unrelenting determination, as if he wouldn't stop until he got what he wanted, Lin Yiyi took two steps back and stared at him in terror.
Lin Yiyi turned to see Liu Zifan squeezing inside in a wretched state, his hand, mangled and bloody from being caught in the door, hanging at his side.
Drops of blood mixed with rainwater and fell one by one onto the expensive tiles.
That glaring red mark in the entrance hall seared Lin Yiyi's eyes in an instant.
All her defenses, all her cold words, shattered against the tangible pain before her.
She practically screamed, her voice trembling and choked with tears. "Liu Zifan, are you insane? You're an esports ace! Your hands are precious. How could you... how could you do this to yourself?"
She rushed over, wanting to check his wrist, but pulled back the instant her fingertips touched his icy skin.
She was afraid of hurting him, and even more afraid that if she touched him, she would never be able to let go.
Liu Zifan watched her panic, watched the unmistakable concern in her eyes.
On his handsome, pale face, washed by the rain, a faint, mocking smile appeared.
He raised the hand that was still bleeding as if it were some insignificant prop.
His voice was so soft it was almost swallowed by the rain, yet his words landed heavily in Lin Yiyi's heart.
"What does one hand matter compared to you?" He took a step closer, his bloodshot eyes locked on hers as if he wanted to pull her in. "If it means I can come in and see you, I don't care if I lose a hand. I don't care if I can never touch a keyboard again."
Lin Yiyi stood frozen, soaked through and shivering with cold, yet her cheeks felt scorching hot.
To chase after her, he was willing to destroy the very foundation of his livelihood.
Such all-consuming devotion, like they were both going down together, left her breathless and terrified.
She didn't know what to say in reply.
In this battle, Liu Zifan had dragged himself down into the dirt, leaving none of her weapons with anything to strike.
"Liu Zifan, you..." Lin Yiyi opened her mouth, but no sound came out. Tears slid down her face, mingling with the rain.
Seeing her cry, Liu Zifan moved his injured hand slightly, as if to lift it and wipe away her tears.
But the next second, he was afraid the blood would stain her.
In the end, he merely let his arm fall, exhausted, and asked softly, "Why? Why are you avoiding me?"
Lin Yiyi stood where she was, watching his back, then lowered her eyes to the few drops of blood on the ground.
They were both the medals of "FanY" and the sacrifice of Liu Zifan.
Suddenly, she felt that the wall she'd guarded for four years might finally crumble tonight.
After Liu Zifan left, she lowered her head and quickly took out a tissue, using the faint light from the villa's porch lamps to wipe rain and grime off the badge.
The white tissue turned gray-black with stains, then a glaring streak of red appeared.
Blood... Lin Yiyi's pupils suddenly contracted.
Earlier, when Liu Zifan had tried to stop her from closing the door, his hand had been caught.
The red stood out against the silver badge, vivid as a plum blossom blooming in the dead of winter, and it stabbed painfully at her eyes.
Holding back her tears, she backed against the wall, her spine pressed to its surface, and finally broke down sobbing.
She thought she hated him. But seeing him hurt and crazy, hearing his words, made her feel worse than death!
The rain kept falling outside, washing the ground, yet it couldn't wash away the burning pain that red mark had left behind.
The cold wind whipped rain against her, chilling Lin Yiyi to the bone as she sobbed until she could barely breathe.
"Yiyi..." he murmured, his voice breaking apart in the roar of the waves, each word cutting into his throat. "What about me? You say you love your husband so much. Then tell me, what am I to you?"
He laughed as he told himself...
Am I the backup you tossed aside without a second thought?
Or the fool who doesn't even know if his own child is still alive?
"I thought changing myself over these four years would be enough to stand before you and make you see me differently. But reality has shown me that no matter how strong I become, I'm still the beggar who begged you not to have an abortion."
He slammed his fist against the steering wheel. "Beep!" The car horn tore through the long night by the sea.
The sound startled a flock of seabirds and shattered the false calm.
He gasped for breath, his eyes bloodshot, but he never let a tear fall.
Because he remembered what his father, Liu Yizhou, had told him when he was young: "A man doesn't shed tears easily, especially in front of the woman he loves."
But he was only seven or eight years old then. He hadn't understood what those words meant!
Now he did!
His father was a soldier who carried a gun, while he was just a keyboard-pounding programmer.
His father could protect his brothers through a hail of bullets, but he couldn't even protect the woman he loved.
All he could do was chase her car like a fool in the rain, buy cold medicine, and be unable to deliver it to her.
"Dad, I love her. I can't give her up, but she... she doesn't want me anymore!"
