How to Keep Up My Poor Persona After I Transmigrate Into a Book as the Richest Man

[See the author's profile for a completed novel of the same type: If the Versailles-Prone Female Supporting Character Were Rich, Book Transmigration]

Blurb:

Tang Li transmigrated into a book.

The good news: she knew the plot of the world she'd entered, and she'd become the inconspicuous richest person in the novel, who inherited the family business.

The bad news: a System had transmigrated with her.

The System told her that she was supposed to become a poor girl who pretended to be rich, a foil to the female lead from the same humble background. But a bug in the world had caused the supporting character to disappear. If Tang Li couldn't take her place and follow the plot without anyone discovering her true identity, the world would cease to exist, and the countless funds in her bank account would be wiped out. But if she completed the plot, she could inherit everything she had gained in this world.

Tang Li: "This is a thing? Pretending to be rich is hard, but pretending to be poor is easy!"

So Tang Li bought a pile of low-end knockoffs for her wardrobe and joined the female lead's company as a new hire.

While the female lead dressed plainly and showed off her competence, Tang Li wore all kinds of Taobao knockoffs of "haute couture" and made sure to brag about them at every opportunity:

"Oh, sorry, the clothes at home are piled so high I can't even wear them all~"

"This bag? It's a limited edition. There are only five in the whole world~"

"I never stay in anything but a presidential suite~"

"I'm allergic to private cars that cost less than a million~"

"My family has too many assets. The butler told me that unless I get an offer from another company, he'll make me go home and inherit the family business~..."

Her coworkers smiled to her face but looked down on her behind her back.

But once the plot was over, they saw Tang Li sitting in the president's seat at the company that had acquired theirs. Everyone was stunned. Was it too late to cozy up to her now?!

The female lead, who had secretly become Tang Li's partner, quietly withdrew her plans to change jobs. What was it like to pick up a big shot and end up best friends?
