Nunu'er escaped the man-eating Wilds City after surviving death time and again, only to enter the Great Qi. The new Heavenly Official of Zhongluo Prefecture had passed the Heart-Questioning Stone's test. Nunu'er had no grand, world-shaking ambitions like the wielder of the flying sword. After receiving the seal and becoming a Heavenly Official, all she wanted was to choose her own Spear-Bearing Attendant. She longed to see the most honored person in the Great Qi dynasty kneel before her, bow his head in submission, and speak the four prophetic lines that sealed their bond as master and attendant: “I take up the spear, and serve at your side.
