Yun Yizhong and Jiang Yunxuan grew up together, but he didn't want to be just her childhood friend.

She spent her entire elementary school life following Yun Yizhong. He was her megaphone, amplifier, and interpreter.

But as she watched Yun Yizhong grow taller and stronger and become popular with more and more people, fear began to creep into her heart.

She didn't want to hide behind him. She wanted to protect him too.

One day after school in middle school, two older students cornered Yun Yizhong. Jiang Yunxuan gathered her courage and shouted, "Let that boy go!"

Yun Yizhong couldn't believe it. Jiang Yunxuan, who was so timid, had actually stepped in front of him to protect him.

The older students didn't take the petite girl seriously. She seized the chance to throw sand in their faces, grabbed Yun Yizhong, and ran.

They sprinted as fast as they could. Jiang Yunxuan's chest hurt from running, but she wore a bright, sunny smile, as if telling Yun Yizhong:

"See? I can protect you too."
