Can a Crow Be a Great Detective?

What's it like to end up inside a mystery novel?

Bai Zhi: Thanks for asking. A mystery fan's dream come true.

Of course, it would be even better if I hadn't become a crow.

Fine, a crow it is.

A bird's-eye view from up high, watching the drama unfold. It's a whole new experience!

Until the stray dog at the end of the alley, who was always snarling at her but secretly left food for her, died.

Bai Zhi crouched on the eaves, watching a sanitation worker sweep away the puppy's cold body. Something inside her crumpled.

Then I'll find the killer for you.

The good news: After keeping watch for half a month, she finally identified the killer.

The bad news: The killer had murdered the puppy to practice killing. The next target was a girl living alone on the third floor.

The even worse news: Bai Zhi flew at the window to warn the human, but when she opened her beak, all she could cry was, "Caw!"

She flapped her wings in fury. How could a crow not become a great detective?
