[Ruthless, scheming fallen rich heir bottom x all-powerful scion top]
An Ke's first twenty-five years were a history of carefully laid schemes and calculated ambition.
He cast aside tenderness and eradicated every weakness, becoming the finest kind of chess player. He treated everyone around him, even himself, as a pawn, all to claim the throne symbolizing power and wealth.
He was only one step away from getting everything he wanted when a sudden car accident smashed it all to pieces.
When he opened his eyes again, the world had been turned upside down. His soul had crossed into the body of a rich young master with the same name and face as his own.
But this "An Ke" was an incompetent good-for-nothing whom everyone could bully.
Despite his prestigious family, he was an outcast, living under the contemptuous gaze of everyone around him.
How could An Ke accept falling from the clouds into the mire?
But instinct, honed by years of maneuvering, quickly steadied him.
So what if he was a fallen rich heir?
This body and identity were just the starting point of another game of chess.
He reined in the cruelty in his bones and put on a meek disguise, determined to turn this losing hand around and climb back to the coveted position of heir.
He plotted against his family's overt and covert attacks and maneuvered among his hypocritical relatives. Everything seemed to be unfolding as he had planned.
But An Ke gradually realized that one gaze had pierced all his disguises and fixed firmly on him.
-
Shang Duo: a name that could make the entire upper class fall silent.
He wielded immense power and ruthless methods. He was a true kingpin, one whose favor even An Ke's family had to rely on.
An Ke couldn't understand when, or how, he had caught the attention of this predator.
Shang Duo approached with an undeniable forcefulness.
Like the sharpest of hunters, he had already seen through the claws and fangs beneath An Ke's meek exterior.
He didn't want to tame him. He wanted to conquer him.
He wanted this dangerous lone wolf to willingly settle in his territory.
And so their contest spread in silence.
The man pinned him within a narrow space, his long, well-defined fingers gripping the slender, seemingly fragile neck. His voice was fierce, while his dark eyes roiled with nearly crazed lust and possessiveness.
He said, "An Ke, you're mine. From the moment you entered my sight, you had no chance of escaping."
An Ke tilted his head back and sneered, his eyes filled with equally undisguised greed and ambition. "Shang Duo, you can only be mine, too. Your love, your hatred, your everything: it can all belong to me alone."
"If I find out you've fallen for someone else..." Shang Duo's thumb caressed his Adam's apple, his voice low as an oath. "You'll lose your legs, understand?"
"The same goes for you." An Ke caught his wrist in return, gripping just as firmly. "If you dare betray me, I won't hesitate to build you a cage with my own hands, one you can never leave."
Shang Duo had never believed in ghosts or gods, nor revered the divine, yet he was willing to bow before An Ke and kneel to every god in heaven, asking only that they "never be parted."
To him, An Ke was the only chain capable of fastening around his neck. He was willing to wear a bite guard and have shackles locked around his ankles for him, becoming his most loyal and most dangerous subject, forever at his mercy.
[Reading Guide]
1. Both are equally strong, and neither is a good person. They're deeply ruthless, with sincerity mixed into their hypocrisy. The push and pull reaches the limit, but it's not angsty. Scheming.
2. The bottom is career-focused, with work as his only priority. He uses people more than he loves them, though he does fall in love for real.
3. One-on-one pairing. The top only loves the bottom and willingly lets himself be used by him.
