A handsome new veterinarian with blond hair and blue eyes, Lian Shuang, has joined a pet hospital in Jiangcheng. He's gentle and considerate.
Even the fiercest little cat, nicknamed "Doom-bringer," sits still for its injection when he pets it.
He does have one strange rule, though: as soon as the sun sets, he clocks out and rushes off without a moment's delay. His coworkers gossip, wondering if there's gold waiting for him at home.
Lian Shuang just scratches his head. "There's a clingy little cat at home. If I get back late, it'll get depressed and fall ill."
Everyone praises Lian Shuang for being handsome and kindhearted.
Then one day, just as Lian Shuang is about to leave work, an emergency surgery comes in.
He grits his teeth and takes the case, but no one is allowed near him during the operation.
The hospital director, Su Xinghe, is puzzled. He's the best veterinarian for cats around. Could he be afraid someone will steal his techniques?
Standing outside the operating room, Su Xinghe suddenly sees a golden tail appear behind Lian Shuang.
His eyes widen and he covers his mouth. "What exactly is he?!"
--
Lian Shuang returned to Cat Planet when he was six. After eating a rat that had been poisoned, he worked on Cat Planet for ten years before finally saving enough tokens to return to his human.
"Cat Elder, could you give me fur about the same color as I had in my past life? Maybe he won't recognize me!"
The Cat Planet Elder said, "Xiao Shuang, as long as he still remembers you, he'll recognize you no matter what you look like."
Lian Shuang believed the Cat Elder, but was still a little nervous. He resorted to pretending to be injured to get close to Su Xinghe.
This time, he would spend more time with Su Xinghe. Meow! He was sure to succeed!

[Bonus Scene 1]
Su Xinghe followed Lian Shuang home and discovered that he didn't have a cat at all. To make matters worse, the rain was pouring down, and Su Xinghe was stuck outside.
Lian Shuang came out to take out the trash. "Xinghe, what are you doing here?"
Su Xinghe scratched his head. "Buying dinner."
Lian Shuang didn't believe him.
Su Xinghe: Can I come in and take shelter from the rain?
Lian Shuang hesitated, but still let Su Xinghe inside.
In the middle of the night, Su Xinghe felt something furry by his hand. He jolted in surprise, and there was a cat's tail in his hand!
He scrambled backward and nearly fell off the bed.
Lian Shuang stared straight at him. "If you touch it, you have to take responsibility!"
[Bonus Scene 2]
Su Xinghe stroked Lian Shuang's long, slender cat tail, narrowing his eyes as he looked at him. "I have to ask, Lian Shuang, why didn't you give me a hint?"
Lian Shuang happily rubbed against his palm. "Meow! My tail, right here! It cost me 500,000 points to get it. Being a cat is hard work!"
Su Xinghe: That many points? How did you earn them?
Lian Shuang: Meow! I worked during the day and collected bottles at night! For ten years, you litter-box cleaner!
Su Xinghe: You've had it so hard, Lian Shuang?
Lian Shuang meowed. "It wasn't hard! My life is hard!"
