Jiang Huili's life went completely off course when she accidentally read her cousin's diary.
She transmigrated into her cousin's diary, filled with absurd romantic fantasies.
When she woke up, she had become the "I" in the diary,
a fangirl living between the lines, passionately in love with top-tier idol Kwon Jiyong.
The rules of this world are simple: Perform the role and live; go out of character and die. No save points, endless restarts.
And so Jiang Huili was forced to begin her "acting showcase":
Play out a romantic first meeting with a sense of destiny;
maintain an exciting secret relationship, dodging cameras more nervously than a spy;
respond to his very public favoritism, directed at her alone, with three parts smugness and seven parts panic; and even after becoming the "idol's girlfriend," discreetly... provoke his fans.
Jiang Huili: Being alive is worse than being dead.
She worked conscientiously and diligently, finally acting her way through the grand (melodramatic) epic of secret longing, push and pull, obsession, and romantic rivalry.
But just when she thought she could return to reality and leave without a trace of her accomplishments...
She opened her eyes and found herself a native South Korean university student named Jiang Huili.
Seoul, 2012. Everything was real and new.
The man she had once been "tangled up with in love and hate" was now the dazzling superstar GD in the news, and he... didn't know her at all.
Jiang Huili: Great.
A new life, new rules. This time, she would write it all herself.
After saying goodbye to the thrilling life controlled by a script, she threw herself into reality as Jiang Huili. Drawing on her aesthetic sense from before transmigrating and her instinct for the trends of Korean pop culture after transmigrating, she quickly became the "most promising young designer" in the fashion media.
Her career flourished.
Jiang Huili was certain that the life she'd been forced to "perform" was completely behind her.
Until one day, she was invited to provide outfits for a magazine feature and went to the shoot in person.
Light and shadow mingled in the studio, and people spoke in hushed voices. She was quietly confirming the final details with an editor when an intensely present gaze crossed the busy room and fixed on her without warning.
Jiang Huili's back stiffened slightly. A familiar shiver, one that had been described countless times before, quietly crept up her spine.
She slowly raised her eyes.
Their eyes met, and time seemed to stretch.
Kwon Jiyong's lips moved slightly: Found you.
At that moment, Jiang Huili seemed to hear the gears of fate turning slowly once more, with a grating creak.
Theme: Romance until death.
