From the perspective of the first person "I" - Silence, a frustrated photographer who specializes in photographing urban ruins and marginalized people, an ukiyo-e depicts the survival plight of young people in contemporary cities. The story uses the "suicide" of his friend Gu Yuan as an introduction, and involves an intricate network of conspiracy involving real estate giants, black money politics, the struggle of the bottom and the annihilation of humanity. There are no heroes in the book, only a group of "bad people" who are getting deeper and deeper into the quagmire of fate. Every act of kindness accelerates the tragedy; every search for the truth leads to deeper darkness. In the end, all the characters were not spared, and were crushed by the huge meat grinder of the city in the most tragic and silent way. What is left to the readers is endless chills and a strong resonance with their own destiny.
