In the second year of her marriage, Xi He killed her husband with her own hands.
Her husband was taciturn and blind, with a frail constitution. At least he was stunningly beautiful, and always did whatever she asked.
She thought they would go on living like that, until one day the famed young master of the Jiang clan appeared at her door.
Jiang Hanyun told her that her husband was actually the infamous common enemy of the world, the Ghost Lord of the Nine Netherworlds.
The Ghost Lord was born with a heart without apertures, and so he had no emotions or desires and could neither die nor be destroyed.
Decades ago, the powers of the world joined forces and grievously wounded him. But there was only one way to truly kill the Ghost Lord.
"When a heart without apertures falls in love, it is no longer invulnerable."
"You are his wife. Only you can kill him."
Xi He had never even killed a chicken, let alone a person.
But the System, which had been offline for ages, suddenly came back online. It said Xi He had been sent here to correct the world's storyline, and that once she completed her task, she could go home.
But if she refused to help Jiang Hanyun kill the Ghost Lord, she would be erased immediately, and this world would collapse.
How could someone without feelings or desires fall in love?
Yet with the peach blossom hairpin he had given her at their wedding, she easily pierced his heart.
The Jiang clan possessed a treasure called the Sumeru Spinner. To use it to tear through space and return home, Xi He had no choice but to form a life pact with Jiang Hanyun, making them a fake married couple.
Just as she had finally waited for the Sumeru Spinner to near activation, the System suddenly told Xi He that another bug had appeared in the storyline. The key to fixing it lay with Jiang Hanyun's younger brother, Jiang Xiexue, who had been sickly since birth.
The cultivation world looked down on the mortal wife of the Jiang clan's young master, and Jiang Xiexue did too.
Xi He didn't like the way he looked at her: cold and clinging, like a spiderweb.
To get home, Xi He could only play the role of his sister-in-law and grumble as she tried to win Jiang Xiexue over.
The day the Sumeru Spinner finally opened, just as she was about to leave after completing her mission, Xi He woke up aching all over and wearing nothing. Only thousands of red threads bound her hands and feet.
The person kneeling before her wore white robes and had dark hair, holding the Sumeru Spinner, shattered into pieces.
Jiang Xiexue lowered his lashes and fixed his cool, distant gaze on her. "Sister-in-law, where are you going?"
Xi He trembled all over, unable to stop her tears.
Jiang Xiexue lifted her chin and patiently kissed away her tears. "You used to like this so much. Why are you crying?"
Xi He was horrified, and her tears fell even harder.
*
The Ghost Lord of the Nine Netherworlds once had a mortal wife.
She taught him what love was, then turned around and betrayed him, abandoned him, and even married someone else.
It didn't matter.
Jiang Xiexue covered her eyes with his hand. His icy body coiled around her like a snake. "Open your mouth."
The night was long. They had all the time in the world to start over.
#Betray a gloomy, obsessive ghost and he'll take his revenge by having his way with you

Coming soon: What Does It Matter If She's the Master's Wife? Please add it to your favorites!
Lin You transmigrates into a cultivation novel as the villainous master's wife, who has the same name as her.
The male lead, Xie Zhuo, is the standard tragic beauty: strong, beautiful, and miserable.
Born with a sword bone, he has a troubled background and joins an unreliable sect.
His master is aloof and indifferent to worldly affairs, spending decades in seclusion at a time.
His twin junior brothers are frail and sickly, and he keeps them alive by using his heart's blood as medicine.
Worst of all is his master's wife, a stunning beauty with a useless spirit root and a vicious disposition.
Jealous that he can cultivate, she beats and torments him at every turn, treating it all as entertainment.
While searching for ingredients for her beauty pills, Xie Zhuo falls into the demonic abyss. Demonic energy clings to him, and his cultivation stagnates.
Later, Xie Zhuo's master is exposed as a member of the demon race and executed by the sect.
To save herself, Lin You immediately cuts ties with them, secretly informs the sect that the twins are members of the demon race, and falsely accuses Xie Zhuo of being a demon as well.
All three are expelled from the sect and sent to Yinghua Island, where demons and monsters mingle.
The twins die on the island, while Xie Zhuo has his spirit root ripped out and is imprisoned in a dungeon for decades.
Only when the original novel's heroine saves Xie Zhuo does he regain his spirit root, improve his cultivation, and kill everyone who once bullied him.
When Xie Zhuo attacks Tianxuan Sect, all that remains of Lin You is a grave.
After being alone for so long, his eyes dark and unreadable, he finally raises his sword and digs up her grave.
Lin You awakens too late. The plot has already reached the moment when she informs the sect.
Thinking of the terrible fate awaiting her, Lin You hurries to Yinghua Island in the middle of the night to save them.
In a dungeon awash with filthy water, Xie Zhuo's spirit root has been destroyed. Blood soaks his white robes, and his cool eyes are hollow.
The twins reveal their demon forms, their wolf ears trembling as they whimper softly.
To survive, Lin You can only deceive them. "Your master's wife came too late."
Lin You carefully conceals the truth, leading the twins by the hand and carrying Xie Zhuo across a thousand mountains and rivers. She plans to hitch a ride on the male lead's good fortune, then run as far away as she can.
But she says, "Your master's wife won't abandon you."
At first, they think: So what if she's our master's wife?
She's vicious and false. One day, we'll break free of her control and leave her far behind.
Later, they surround her, their gazes burning and shadowed. "Where did he touch you? Here, or here?"
She raises her hand and slaps them hard. "I'm your master's wife!"
They think: So what if she's our master's wife?
Our master... is already dead.
So, Master's Wife, could you pity me, love me, and look at me?
A charming master's wife who only wants to grow stronger x her gloomy, deranged, lovesick, decidedly abnormal disciples
[The female lead and the master were never actually married]
Theme: Love and being loved
Why are some parts of the introduction not reflected in the text [Glasses]
Oops, I need to change my mind. Once the poison has been cured, you can treat it as unsolved, or the male protagonist is simply helpful.
I was originally a carefree and happy child, but since I got stuck in this plot, I have become increasingly haggard. Please put down your phone, stay away from watching dramas, and concentrate on typing to save me.
Very nice!! 😭 Why are so few people watching? 😭
Teacher, are there any extras? 😭
The extra must be very special [][]
"Presumably they have already learned about Xi He..." This is a big bug for the author~ It's Jiang Hanyun
I don't understand why the female supporting character was not allowed to be killed. Even though I guessed that Jiang wouldn't kill her, I didn't die, but there were still many people who died. Modern people also know that murder pays for life, don't say anything about not killing her.
Could you please write less about magic props with particularly complicated logical relationships? 😂 😂 If you write too much about this stuff, it would be really convoluted, and I'm stupid, so I won't be able to understand it.
"Jiang Xiexue looked at the dazzling array of things on the table..." This is a big bug for the author~ It should be Jiang Hanyun
