A is a modern university student with a nine-to-five schedule. In his free time between classes, his favorite thing to do is play games.
Especially the newest installment in a certain company's Honkai series.
With no classes on Monday, he opened the game as usual. After using up his daily Trailblaze Power, he opened the Divergent Universe, planning to collect the rewards that reset every two weeks before logging off.
He controlled his character and selected the [Occurrence] module. In a green frame, he saw a bowl of kidney bean pastries and the familiar figure of a girl.
A's eyes lit up. It was Ruan Mei (Part One)!
He'd only run into this thing twice in the entire previous year. He couldn't believe he'd encountered it right at the start of this year.
Oh my god, could today be his lucky day?
Feeling pleased with his good fortune, A opened the occurrence and without hesitation chose you... that is, Ruan Mei's option, gaining all the [Abundance] blessings and 2,000 Cosmic Fragments.
Later, in the instant before he lost consciousness, A knew this sudden stroke of luck couldn't be so simple.
He woke on a stone altar. Before his eyes lay a scene of blood and wreckage, along with a tall, unfamiliar figure.
A was utterly bewildered, his mind not yet fully caught up. But the man noticed him and turned to walk over.
A sat on the ground, watching helplessly as he came closer. In the blue ghost fire, he could make out the man's entire face.
His eyes widened. Damn, what a handsome guy!
People are visual creatures, after all. Even when it comes to good-looking members of the same sex, no one is immune.
But before he could say anything, a sudden pain pierced his chest.
Agony swept through his whole body, and blood spilled from his mouth. A looked down in disbelief and saw the tip of a spear protruding through his chest.
A: "..."
The young man was suddenly incapable of thinking about anything else. He jerked his head up and glared through clenched teeth at the unfeeling culprit. The blood pouring from him soaked his clothes and stained his eyes red.
Enduring the searing flames, he mustered a vicious look and, at the other man...
Flipped him the bird.
Bastard! If he ever got out of here alive, he swore he'd make that guy pay!
The good news: he survived. All those [Abundance] blessings gave him unparalleled regenerative powers.
The bad news: he'd been transported into a game, but not Honkai: Star Rail. He'd ended up in the neighboring world of Genshin Impact.
P.S.
I love having the whole novel written and ready to go. Flins's character is so worth researching in depth. I'm afraid this novel won't get started until the Nod-Krai storyline has mostly finished unfolding...
Theme: Save the wounded, heal the sick, and help all living beings.
