“He can do it, so why can’t I?”
Xie Lingchen was a little slut who’d slept his way into a job, a pampered canary. For ten years, he worked diligently and never crossed the line. Gentleness and thoughtfulness were his weapons; playing dumb was his armor. But even someone as perfect as him was finally kicked to the curb.
Ten years of youth had been nothing but a fleeting dream. Xie Lingchen glanced at the properties in his name and gave a careless, cold laugh.
It was just a matter of each getting what they wanted. What was there to be sad about?
He’d thought that he and Xu Yunkai would part on good terms, but he never expected some “interloper” to ruin everything halfway through.
“Ten years. You were only eighteen when you got together with him, right? The best years of your youth. Dare you say... you never once fell for him?”
The man looked down at him, one brow raised, his gaze half mocking, half enticing.
“So, what do you say? Want to team up with me and take him down?”
One misstep, and Xie Lingchen was aboard the wrong ship, forced to join forces with this inexperienced young man. He’d never been one to suffer hardship, yet here he was, sprawled in a rented apartment, staring at the ceiling with a cigarette between his lips.
“Hey, what exactly is your relationship with Xu Yunkai? Why are you so determined to get revenge on him?”
The man beside him smiled faintly and pulled him against his chest. Pressing his warm lips to the unlit cigarette, he murmured,
“He’s my uncle.”
“...”
Damn it. Men really are all bastards.
*Content warnings:
The love interest changes. The protagonist is not sexually inexperienced. There’ll be a little (or a lot?) melodrama in the middle and later parts. Age gap, with the scummy ex continuing to pursue him; he won’t disappear anytime soon.
