A Stepping Stone (Matriarchal Society)

On the night before she was determined to abandon her long-suffering husband and marry into Prince Jing's household, Wang Heng thought coldly:

If you want to climb the ladder to success, you have to step on a stepping stone first.

I wondered why no one had written a gender-swapped Chen Shimei story in a female-dominant setting, so I decided to contribute one.

Compared with Chen Shimei, the heroine is more like Wang Sheng from the live-action adaptation of Painted Skin: gentle, soft-spoken, and utterly rotten.

A short story.

Includes a plot point where the abandoned wife turns into a ghost.

Theme: Don't feel sorry for men.
