I want to read a story about a man who has no interest in power struggles, yet can still turn the tides with effortless ease.
Blurb [tentatively saved for 26.1.10]:
The FBI recently got a monster of a rookie.
During training at Quantico, he scored nearly perfect marks in every subject. His shooting was especially impressive. Before his training was even over, batches of senior agents from across the country were so eager to recruit him that they personally rushed to the academy. As a result, his training was drastically shortened to ten weeks, after which the New York Field Office snapped him up.
Rumor has it the FBI paid a fortune to poach him from the Navy SEALs.
This rookie is arrogant and audacious.
For starters, on his very first day on the job, he disagreed with the veteran agent assigned to train him about a case, and it turned out he was right. He never hides his abilities, and stands out among the other new recruits. When they band together, he ignores them completely. He always lifts his chin slightly to look down at people, taking advantage of his height, as if his arrogance were inborn. (cjxy: How is being tall my fault...)
This is a dependable team leader.
That's what the rookies think.
He's always the first to charge in when breaching a building. Whenever there's danger, he pushes his teammates behind him. He takes on the toughest parts of every mission. He's strict, but never unreasonable toward his subordinates. It's as if the word fear doesn't exist in his dictionary. He was born to dance with danger.
This is an outstanding subordinate.
Thanks to his brilliant record, he rose to the FBI's upper ranks in his early thirties. He never buckles under threats from any faction. He has a forceful approach, but also an exceptional political gift. He disdains power struggles, yet always resolves them with ease. That must be one reason he's risen so high at such a young age. Given time, he'll certainly be a strong contender for director.
Just reserving a spot for now.
But at the moment, I don't know how to write political power struggles, and I don't know enough about the FBI.
I'll go watch some American TV shows first...
