She's Beautiful in Her Own Way

A new neighbor moved in next door to Jiang Yuanyuan. When they met, she discovered that he was none other than Liang Jinchao, the famous news anchor.

The "noble young master" who only ever appeared on TV actually lived right next door. Jiang Yuanyuan ought to have been thrilled, but she'd only just gone from fan to hater. She assumed they wouldn't have much to do with each other, until one day someone suddenly knocked on her door.

Outside stood Liang Jinchao, filthy and looking awkward. It took him a long while to finally get a few words out.

"Could I borrow your bathroom?"

He blushed as soon as he said it.

What kind of ridiculous request was that? His clothes were soaked through and he did look unwell, but Jiang Yuanyuan still coldly shut the door in his face.

The next time they crossed paths was outside her home. Several middle-aged women surrounded Liang Jinchao, berating him without pause and making it clear they wanted money.

Later, Jiang Yuanyuan learned that these people were his relatives. She also found out that despite his glamorous public image, his life was actually miserable.

He didn't even have money to pay the electricity bill. That's why, after getting caught in the rain and taking a fall, he'd come to her place to borrow the bathroom.

But she hadn't let him.

The young master's eyes reddened. Jiang Yuanyuan's heart softened, and she patted his shoulder generously to encourage him. "Oh, come on. It's not that big a deal."

Then... he cried even harder.

Years later, whenever the two of them argued, Liang Jinchao would get teary-eyed. Not only that, he'd move toward the corner while crying, then lean against the wall and say nothing.

Jiang Yuanyuan would usually calm down, but if she didn't, he'd add, "You know, I've been yours for a long time."

He'd also say, "It's okay, go ahead and scold me. I'm not hurt. I'll feel better after a good cry."

Jiang Yuanyuan's friends always remarked on how lucky she was to have landed a noble young master for a husband: aloof, abstinent, and with eyes only for her.

But Jiang Yuanyuan just wanted to shout, "He's actually such a scheming little green tea!"

As for why she never shouted it...

Because no one would believe her.

That little jerk is always putting on an act.
