A short novella. Complete.
-
Lin Xi is driving alone across the western Sichuan Plateau when altitude sickness and car trouble force her to stop at the Que'er Mountain Pass. There, she meets Jiang Xu, a photographer.
Jiang Xu is headed the same way, so he drives her back to the county town, helps arrange accommodation, contacts a tow truck and a repair shop, and invites her to visit Yulong Lhatso with him. After spending several days together, something between them gradually begins to change.
Now and then, he turns his camera toward her: when she gazes absently at the snow-covered mountains, when she bends to smell a blue wildflower, or when she lies in the valley watching the blue sky and white clouds.
A story of a chance romance, parting, reunion, and longing.
That encounter was like the wind passing over Que'er Mountain, stirring the prayer flags...
Theme: What once was, remains.
She never saw him again 😭
The smell of grass is unpleasant
