Zhou Huaian x Xia Fei (tragic romance, tragic ending). The title may change later.
Blurb:
Bangkok, Thailand, during the Loy Krathong Festival.
It's a moonlit night. The riverside is bustling, full of people releasing krathongs and praying for good fortune.
The moonlight is so beautiful, the river so warm, so why do I feel like crying?
Xia Fei crouches beside the Chao Phraya River. She sends off a lotus krathong, then a little boat, then another lotus krathong, then another little boat...
Xia Fei clasps her hands, closes her eyes, and moves her lips ever so slightly:
Goodbye, Zhou Huaian!
On Valentine's Day in this unfamiliar country, I bid you farewell.
Please be happy, no matter what! Wherever I go, I will always pray for your happiness!
Xia Fei has loved Zhou Huaian for so long. She fell in love with him at first sight in high school, and loved him with all her heart.
One summer night, Xia Fei dreamed a sensual dream about him, full of passion and entanglement. Zhou Huaian was right outside then, just a wall away. Anything she imagined could have become real in an instant, but the truth was, she didn't dare do anything and couldn't do anything.
She woke from the dream, got out of bed, grabbed one of his jackets, and stepped out onto the balcony. Zhou Huaian had smoked too much. He had been sitting against the wall for most of the night, and now he was asleep.
Xia Fei crouched down and gently kissed his cracked lips. Then she sat beside him, leaning against his shoulder, her arm pressed to his. She spread the jacket over them both.
The night was late, and the wind was cold.
This was probably the closest they would ever be in their lives.
-
1. High school, university, and a little bit of city life. Tragic ending (sweet at first, then heartbreaking; this is a sad story).
2. Neither lead is poor. They aren't siblings or pseudo-siblings, and there's no revenge for a parent's murder.
3. The male lead isn't a jerk or disgusting. The tragic ending has other reasons.
4. Both leads are alive at the end.
Theme: I love the wind, but I can't make it stop.
