Among merfolk, there are far more males than females. Adolescent male merfolk pursue female merfolk raising young on their own, helping them care for their little ones. Once the little merfolk grow up, the now-adult males drive them away and take their place, seeking the female merfolk's favor.
Xue Nuowei is an adolescent male merfolk. He had been following a female mermaid with young as her knightly protector, but she unexpectedly died, leaving behind a pair of twin male merfolk babies.
Before he had even come of age, the wandering merfolk found himself prematurely promoted to widowed dad, struggling to survive in the ocean with two little ones.
Because he was so beautiful, small in stature, and caring for young, male merfolk often mistook him for a female and rushed over to fawn on him.
Xue Nuo decided to play along and trick them into helping him out, getting them to care for his young for free.
As a result, the guard corps following Xue Nuo grew larger by the day...
With the little ones close to adolescence, his usually feuding guards joined forces to drive them away.
Xue Nuo was also preparing to slip away on his own.
That day, a female merfolk in her mating season happened to pass by, drawing a large crowd of males competing for her. Xue Nuo took advantage of the chaos and ran...
He didn't get away... He got eaten QAQ
Damn it, he told them he was male, so why were they still kissing him!
