(A preview of my upcoming novel, Running a Bathhouse, is included at the end. Please add it to your collections, future partners!)
On the eve of her final exams in senior year, Xu Qingyuan booked a room with her roommate to study through the night. Then a sudden, severe pain in her chest killed her on the spot.
When she opened her eyes, she was back in the year she got into a top senior high school.
At last, she had the chance to make up for all the regrets caused by her past self-indulgence and tangled romantic relationships.
But beyond setting things right, she also wanted to shatter stereotypes through hard work.
Who says a science whiz can't be a girl?
After the results were posted one day...
The class bell rang, and the crowd dispersed.
Xu Qingyuan had PE that period, but she stood perfectly still beneath the physics department's honor roll.
Le Qiu came over to drag her off to play volleyball, but Xu Qingyuan shook her head solemnly.
With a sigh, she said,
"I think G High should add 2017 to its history books."
"This year? Did something big happen?"
Le Qiu glanced at her, confused.
Xu Qingyuan suddenly raised her head and gazed gravely at the honor roll.
"Because this year, the first-year class welcomed the god who would rule over them all!"
Following her gaze, Le Qiu naturally spotted the three bold characters Xu Qingyuan at the very top of the list, and was deeply shaken.
"Ahhh! Why are you always able to say such shameless things with a perfectly straight face?"
1. There are no romantic pairings in this story, and there weren't any in her past life either.
2. This story is mostly about everyday life, with lots of scenes from high school.
3. The timeline is fictional, and the exam system is made up. There is no real-world regional inspiration.
4. The study-related parts are written in great detail and may require some familiarity with high school. If you didn't attend high school, feel free to skip them and give the story a try. They shouldn't affect your enjoyment much.
5. The study tips reflect only the author's personal views, so use them with caution.
Preview of Running a Bathhouse:
Lin Yun, a fourth-year university student in an obscure major at a second-tier, non-Project 985 or 211 university, is about to graduate and become unemployed. By chance, she inherits a failing bathhouse from an elderly woman she once helped across the street.
It turns out that good deeds really do get rewarded.
But there's a problem: her major has nothing to do with running a bathhouse!
After taking a lap around the place, Lin Yun sees old, worn-out pools, broken entertainment facilities, a barely functioning kitchen, and mediocre food.
Well, no wonder it's going under.
The old woman vanishes that very day. Afterward, a lawyer handles all the communication with Lin Yun. She has no idea what to do, so she decides to put the matter aside for now and find a job first.
Just as she's thinking of giving up, a clear young voice rings out in her mind:
"Ding! Luxury Resort Hotel System is now online."
"Enterprise registered under Host's name detected: Huaqing Bathhouse. Qualification rating: F. Barely meets the requirements for binding."
"Binding successful."
"Host, please work hard to build the nation's number one resort hotel!"
Lin Yun: OvO! A golden finger just hit me right in the head!
From then on, posts start popping up on Xiaohongshu:
"What's a must-do entertainment activity in Y City?"
"Of course, we all need to have some fun. I go to Huaqing for a soak every week. If I skip it, I feel off for the rest of the week. Take it from me, bro, it's amazing."
"Just arrived in Y City. Local folks, please recommend some good food!"
"Girl, I'm from Y City! Everything else is up to you, but you absolutely have to try the buffet at Huaqing Bathhouse. You'll regret it for the rest of your life if you don't!"
"Looking for partners for a murder mystery game at Huaqing. Six spots, three still open. Carpooling."
"Me, me, me! I was just thinking about going to Huaqing for a soak and getting some of their buffet too. Sounds so nice, hehe."
"I want to go too! I'll take a nap there after the game. I don't know why, but I usually can't sleep at home, yet I sleep so well at Huaqing."
Watching exhausted people wash away their fatigue and relieve their stress at her bathhouse fills Lin Yun with a deep sense of accomplishment.
Next up, Lin Yun clenches her fist in front of her chest. Huaqing is going nationwide!
Theme: Study hard and keep improving every day.
My dad, actually, my mentality is a bit broken. What do you mean? Can you give me some accurate information? It said that there is no update every other day. In fact, there is no update every other day. Now there is no update every few days. There has been no news for a long time. I am really, sad 😭 [melted]
Hello, Miss, please give me your money back. Whatever you want. Update when you like. Can I get my money back?
Can you report this if you don't update and don't understand V?
Can I get a refund if I don't write it? I really don't have time to make trouble with you. At first, there was nothing to follow the series, but then the updates got later and later. Now, more than half a year has passed since the leave application was posted. From your previous remarks, leave application form and name, it can be seen that you are a medical student. If you know you are busy, don't apply for a contract. I originally waited until the first leave application form was up to see the update, but I didn't expect that the second leave application form only had an emoticon. I don't want to see the third leave application form again. I'm really too busy to get a refund.
Oh, it's really well written. Please don't stop updating. I've been very busy since school started. I haven't read it for more than half a month, thinking I could save a lot 🙏, but I didn't expect that there is not even a chapter. Looking forward to returning. I always felt that you would not give up just like this.
Chasing Better is painful, I have to read it several times a day to see if there are any updates [Hold my thighs] I must continue writing.
Hahahahahaha Taishe is dead...
Please don't stop updating 💔💔 I really like this article
Teacher, I'm waiting for you. It's not painful or tiring at all.
I originally wanted to fatten them up before killing them, but in the end... [Crying]
