The Han Dynasty's Beloved Prince

Liu Dan was born at just the right moment. His father had only recently been raised from the status of a distant royal clansman to emperor by the Grand General.

At that time, the Grand General's daughter was already eyeing the empress's throne.

But as it happened, Liu Dan's mother was that very empress.

When Liu Bingyi heard that the empress was having a difficult labor, his legs nearly gave way.

When he subtly realized that the imperial physician was hinting that someone had poisoned the empress, the murderous intent in his heart reached its peak.

Just then, the empress gave birth safely.

The poison had drained the empress so badly that she only managed to give birth after exhausting herself. Although she recovered without lasting harm after careful recuperation, the little prince was frail and sickly.

Liu Bingyi held the child in his arms, his eyes full of tenderness.

This was the child he and the empress had conceived after rising to power, born at such a perilous time for the empress.

From then on, Empress Xu Pingjun would give this son the stars if he asked for them, and never settle for the moon.

Liu Bingyi followed his wife's lead and treated him the same way.
