After Li Zhi dies, he transmigrates into a melodramatic novel about a rich family raising the wrong son.
Unfortunately, he isn't the tragic, stubborn, lovable real young master, nor is he the overpowered protagonist who can make millions appear with a single word. Instead, he's the fake young master who stole someone else's identity, wears his wickedness on his face, and is as foolish and nasty as he is spoiled.
He repeatedly sabotages the protagonist, steals everything that was never his, and ultimately meets a miserable end, with nowhere to be buried but the slums.
Sucking on a lollipop, Li Zhi watches the original owner's death in the System's space, his eyes fixed on the person who decides his fate.
The man is dressed in a fine suit, with deep-set eyes and an imposing presence. Holding the annual report of the Li Group, he casually instructs the subordinate reporting to him, "If he's going to cause this much trouble, there's no reason to keep him in the Li family."
"Who is he?" Li Zhi asks.
The System replies, "The final head of the Li family in this book, Li Shengyao. Your uncle in name..."
Li Zhi narrows his eyes, a smile forming at the corner of his mouth. In a warm tone, he says, "Uncle."
"The Li family's young master is getting married today. Those two really are made for each other. I've hated that fake young master from the start, the one who made a scene over everything and expected the whole world to revolve around him."
"Didn't he used to fight his younger brother over a man? Now that the real heir's marrying into another wealthy family, did he come all the way from the slums to see it?"
In the middle of the banquet hall, a crowd escorts the family's current head toward them. The two grooms, celebrating their big day, hurry over to greet him.
But there, hand in hand with the man at his side, is Li Zhi, the one person who should never have been there. Leaning against him with a smile, he says, "Congratulations on your wedding! Shengyao said I should give you your wedding present."
As the two men stare at him in shock, their faces changing color, Li Zhi waves the Li Group share-transfer agreement in his hand. He tears the thin sheets to shreds and tosses them into the air. A white rain falls over the wedding.
"Don't be so rude. You should call me Auntie now."
Even if they call him that, he won't give it to them. And they can get in line to call him Auntie.
Bonus scene:
At the Li family mansion, Li Zhi lounges bonelessly on the sofa and points at a young master, dutifully playing the role of a wicked cannon-fodder character. In an arrogant tone, he says, "Don't think you can get everything I have just because you're back. You still don't know who's in charge of the Li family?"
With a thud, the young master falls to the floor, clutching his face, though no one has touched him. He cries to Mr. and Mrs. Li, who rush over, "It's my fault. I upset my big brother..."
Li Zhi can already picture what comes next: kneeling as punishment, being scolded without anyone bothering to ask what happened, then being thrown out. He is about to get up and go through the motions when a figure entering through the door catches his wrist.
"I don't think Li Zhi is the sort of child who acts unreasonably." Gu Shengyao stands behind him and whispers in his ear, "Call me. Your uncle will set things right."
