In "Esos," the oil deposits beneath the desert are like a silent sea: a store of "black wealth" large enough to power the entire world for half a year. Yet this country, where even school roofs leak, has become "prey for those who covet it." Neighboring "Gamma" has stationed troops at the border in the name of "protecting trade routes." The multinational energy conglomerate "Black Reef" has used gold to infiltrate local militias. Even the old well at the village entrance has been bugged. "Our oil is fuel for Gamma's war machines and bloodstains in Black Reef's ledger."
Five years ago, Esos erupted into the First "Oil Conflict." A militia faction backed by Gamma bombed a medical station built with Z-country aid, killing 150 civilians. As a long-standing infrastructure aid partner of Esos, Z-country urgently deployed the "Dawnlight" Peacekeeping Security Force under its "humanitarian duty to provide relief," with the aim of stopping the war from spreading and preserving the last trace of human warmth.
Jiang Zhuo (top) & Wen Jian (bottom)
Some places mistakenly use the female pronoun for them. Please point them out and I'll fix them. *drops to my knees in apology*
