[Stockpiling | Food | Gossip | Farming and foraging in the mountains]
Ye Qing died after ten years of starvation in the apocalypse. When she opened her eyes again, she was in a small mountain village in the north in the 1960s, having become the youngest son of the Xiao family's new bride.
The System told Ye Qing that she'd entered a male-oriented period novel. According to the plot, she had to wash the male lead's clothes, cook for him, and protect him, eventually becoming the woman he could never forget and reaching the pinnacle of her life.
The System rubbed its hands together. "Go for it, Host! Who would turn down being the male lead's unforgettable first love to faithfully be a cook's wife?"
Ye Qing's answer was to kick the System so hard it went silent, then slap it and tell it to get lost.
What was wrong with being married to a cook? Hadn't it heard that even after three years of drought, a cook would never starve to death?!
The village had clear streams, beautiful scenery, and abundant resources. Ye Qing, who'd come from the apocalypse, saw everything with shining eyes.
Wild boars and pheasants? I'll take them! Baical skullcap and ginseng? I'll take them! Raspberries, wild grapes, hawthorn berries, wild rabbits, river fish, eels, I'll take them all!
A savage? I'll take him too... Wait! The handsome, sunny young man grinning at her was her husband, the incredible cook!
One loved good food and stockpiling supplies, while the other was a master cook. The two hit it off at once.
In spring, they gathered wild vegetables and fruit and hunted in the mountains. In summer, they waded into creeks to catch fish and gather herbs. In autumn, they worked the fields and welcomed a bountiful harvest, filling their granary with grain. In winter, the whole family huddled around the heated brick bed to keep warm and chat, while watching the main characters fight among themselves. Their quiet mountain life was bright and bustling.

[Reading Guide]
1. This is a warm, slow-paced stockpiling story. The chaos is everyone else's; the heroine just keeps stockpiling.
2. The heroine has an ability, a golden finger.
3. The author has never gone foraging in the mountains, so I write whatever comes to mind. Don't take it as reality; treat it as a fictional setting.

The Seafood Girl's Gourmet Coastal Adventures in the 1990s
[Food | Coastal foraging | Island life | Daily life]
Island girl You Xia died, and she was actually relieved.
She had a steady, outstanding older brother and lively, mischievous twin younger brothers. As the frail, unremarkable second daughter, she figured her parents might be sad for a long time after losing her, but they'd still press on as a family and struggle out of poverty... right?
But as her spirit drifted over the sea after her death, You Xia saw her parents so devastated that they cried themselves blind, her older brother lose all hope and drop out of school, and her youngest brother defy everyone and leave home with her ashes.
By the third year after her death, the family was practically destroyed.
When You Xia opened her eyes again, she'd returned to 1991.
That year, her father had just been laid off from the factory, leaving his future bleak. Her mother had set up a small stall outside the market selling oyster omelets, but no one was buying. The family was also buried in debt to relatives and friends.
Blessed by Mazu, You Xia discovered she'd brought back the abilities she'd had as a ghost. She could breathe freely underwater and regulate her body temperature!
What was she waiting for? You Xia grabbed a net and a fishing spear and headed out to sea. While others cast their nets from the surface, she dove straight to the ocean floor and came face-to-face with the fish, shrimp, and crabs.
When the tide went out, You Xia came ashore with a basket full of large yellow croakers, sea bream, flower crabs, groupers, and abalone. Before long, a long line would form at her mother's stall.
"Scallion-oil swimming crabs, salt-and-pepper mantis shrimp, steamed grouper, seafood fried rice cakes... One portion per person, while supplies last!"
You Xia had only meant to use her skills to help her family live well. She hadn't expected to catch the rise of island tourism, or for her parents to do so well that all three siblings became rich kids who never had to worry about food or drink!
