Since the Battle of Zhuolu five hundred years ago, Chiyou was imprisoned, Xingtian was beheaded, and Gonggong submitted. Humans and half-beasts enjoyed a brief period of unity and harmony.
Huangdi Ji Xuanyuan led the divine officials and sacred beasts in promoting human civilization and the growth of cities...
Yet half-beasts were born extraordinary, with far greater talent for ingenious inventions than ordinary humans. After years of enduring humiliation under the oppression of the weak, they finally erupted.
And so Gonggong emerged, Mount Buzhou was broken, and the floods came, leaving the land of the Nine Provinces submerged beneath endless waters.
A little scene:
After a thousand years of cultivation, Ji Yao finally transformed from a snake into a dragon. Although turning into a snake made it easier to escape in everyday life, she couldn't stand people calling her a little water snake, much less calling her a "snake demon"!
At that, she perked up and wriggled out from her sleeve, immediately beginning to swell in size.
Gongsun Luo watched as a tiny snake head suddenly grew enormous, sprouting a camel's head, shrimp whiskers, a long snout and sharp fangs, a lion's mane, deer's antlers, tiger's eyes, and ox's ears... A huge dragon head nearly filled the entire room, never mind the dragon's body, which had yet to appear!
Ji Yao was afraid that she might burst through the Great Emperor's house and get punished. This size was as large as she dared to get. She glared with eyes bigger than gongs and opened her mouth. "Auntie, take a good look. I'm a dragon spirit, not a snake demon!"
Her voice rang like a bell, echoing through the valley.
Ji Xuanyuan's hand, resting on the chessboard, slipped slightly.
Gongsun Luo had to crane her neck to meet Ji Yao's gaze, but she had seen all kinds of grand spectacles, and found this amusing. She snorted, planted her hands on her hips, and pointed at the tip of Ji Yao's nose. "So what if you're a dragon? If you're so impressive, why does everyone turn you down whenever I try to find you a match?"
"..." The dragon head tilted slightly, as if thinking it over. "Turn me down? Auntie, didn't you say they thought they weren't good enough for me?"
