After the Cannon Fodder Cub Became the Beloved of a Powerful Family

"Sweet Moments" is a beloved, everybody-loves-him novel. Shi Niannian is the cannon-fodder real young master, there only to highlight the protagonist’s adored status.

In the novel, he is insecure, sensitive, and timid, a completely useless pretty face.

The fake young master is brilliant and deeply loved, yet constantly feels unworthy because of his background.

At a banquet, Shi Niannian and the fake young master both fall into the water.

His eldest brother, who had personally brought him home and promised to protect him forever, walks straight past him to save the fake young master. He does it only so that, at the end of the novel, the fake young master will understand that everyone still loves him.

As for Niannian, he has no ending after the Shi family abandons him.

When the story first begins, Niannian is still an infant.

The protagonist’s impoverished mother, her face twisted with pain, switches the babies and finally leaves Shi Niannian at the gate of an orphanage.

In the dead of winter, the baby is found barely clinging to life. The orphanage director pedals his tricycle furiously and manages to save little Niannian.

By chance, Shi Niannian’s slow little mind also receives fragments of the plot.

But he doesn’t understand what a real or fake young master is, or what it means to be a disposable character who gets abandoned. He only instinctively fears what the story holds for him.

A baby can’t do anything about fear except hide from it.

He refuses to speak and rarely responds to the outside world. The doctor diagnoses him with mild autism.

Until he is four, when Zhou Jian brings him home.

Zhou Jian can do anything, so Niannian has nothing to fear.

After all, Shi Niannian has never seen the world. Surely these properties and cars will be enough to make him willingly obey their every whim.
