In the early days of a global biological contamination outbreak, humanity split into two factions: the Evolved and the Mutated.

At first, the two sides fought shoulder to shoulder, joining forces to repel the aberrations. But as the contamination gradually subsided, the factions turned against each other, becoming mortal enemies.

Yu Yu is the child Zhou Jian raised himself.

When the eldest Yu brother jolts awake, he staggers toward the Zhou home, desperate to bring his younger brother back.

Zhou Jian opens the door, a cigarette between his lips, looking down at him with nothing but wariness and contempt in his eyes.

His younger brother stands behind him, wrapped in a white blanket, his neck marked with frightening bruises.

The eldest Yu brother's eyes widen in anguish. "Xiaoyu, don't be afraid. Your big brother will take you home."

Zhou Jian laughs in anger, kicks the man spouting nonsense away, puts an arm around Yu Yu, and turns to shut the door.

As his head spins, the eldest Yu brother hears their conversation:

"Uncle, who is he?"

"A beggar. Ignore him, sweetheart."

It turns out reality is the opposite of his dream. Zhou Jian has taken very good care of Yu Yu, so well that Yu Yu has no need for the Yu family, which may as well not exist.

No matter how much they regret it, the youngest son of the family is never coming back.
