A gentle, understanding woman of the world x a scheming student who lies
Happy ending / seven-year age gap
One summer evening, Lin Xiao walked into an ordinary-looking barbershop in the old neighborhood.
But she saw that the barber inside couldn't even hold a pair of scissors properly.
Kang Lai, a barber who couldn't cut hair.
One snip, and Lin Xiao's long hair became a choppy, uneven mess of a short cut.
Lin Xiao swore she'd avoid this shop from then on and never set foot inside again.
"Little girl, do you want to see me again?" Kang Lai asked. "I kind of like you."
"Can we meet again?"
Lin Xiao realized she might have fallen for this strange woman, but then Kang Lai disappeared.
She could only return to the shop, where she unexpectedly discovered its secrets, and Kang Lai's.
"Little girl, your big sister just likes money. I don't like those daydreams of yours."
"Are you leaving again?"
Later...
She ran toward Kang Lai, covered in filth.
Like a wandering bird with nowhere to go, she had finally found a safe haven that could embrace her wounds and her past.
Theme: Never give up, even when cornered.
