Yun Shuchen has pursued only three things in his life.
In his youth, he pursued the pinnacle of martial arts.
After his family was massacred, he was consumed by fury and devoted himself to revenge.
Once his revenge was complete, Nanmen Shu was the only person left in his heart.
He is the chief steward of Xuanjing Palace and the foremost of the Four Pivot Envoys, a refined and courteous man who manages every affair of the palace without ever making a mistake.
That man is the master of Xuanjing Palace, a supreme martial artist revered and feared by all throughout the martial world. He is Yun Shuchen's lord, his palace master, and also... his benefactor.
Twelve years have passed since he was taken in by Xuanjing Palace.
He is conscientious and meticulous, keeping the whole palace in perfect order. He has also suppressed his feelings to the utmost, always restraining himself and treating Nanmen Shu with the utmost respect, never daring to let him see the slightest hint of his feelings.
As chief steward, he stays by Nanmen Shu's side, taking over the attendants' work and personally tending to his every need. Handling his clothes, food, daily routine, and every last detail himself is the greatest indulgence he allows himself.
Until one day, Nanmen Shu brings back a beautiful young man from outside and spoils him rotten.
Everyone thinks the young man has won the palace master's heart. Yun Shuchen thinks so too.
So he starts keeping his distance, handing his personal attendant duties back to the servants.
But a few days later, in the dead of night, his lord knocks on his door, pins him against the wall, and grips his chin as he demands:
"One or two days, and I might say you're busy. But it's been several days in a row. Shuchen, are you avoiding me?"
Reader's Guide:
1. A short bedtime read, with an old-school master-and-servant romance. The bottom has a secret crush on the top, who is somewhat domineering and controlling. There are some quasi-coercive romantic situations. I couldn't find anything to read, so I made my own, hehe.
2. The protagonists aren't purely good people. Everyone is morally gray, and people die. This is a ruthless martial world full of bloodshed. Readers who expect the protagonists to have very high moral standards or be paragons of virtue should be warned!
3. The top has had quite a few favored attendants before, so he's full of little tricks. Once he realizes his feelings for the bottom, there won't be anyone else. Before meeting the top, the bottom nearly had an experience of being forced, though it didn't happen and won't be described in detail. Readers who insist on both leads being completely inexperienced should be warned. If you choose to read this, please don't complain about it. I've warned you!
4. Neither has ever fallen in love before. They're each other's only one in the end, and it has a happy ending. It's a sweet story!

Look what I found. Sure enough, there was a surprise when I went to bed late 🤩
Good morning, I originally thought I would go to bed early today, but accidentally I ended up here [covering my face and crying]
