[Twenty-year age gap, pregnancy, pseudo father and son, no love triangle, no romance before adulthood]
Zhou Wanzhi x Zhou Zhicheng
The Zhou family had a complicated family tree. Zhou Wanzhi was the illegitimate son of the family. After his mother abandoned him back at the Zhou residence, he became one of the family's little servants.
He was young and mild-tempered. At five, he still babbled instead of speaking, and with his beautiful eyes blinking, anyone could order him around or bully him.
Put simply, he was a bit of an idiot.
But for some reason, the young master of the Zhou family seemed to like him very much.
The servants said he was cruel and cunning, and that he had killed his father to get his position of power.
Zhou Wanzhi didn't understand, but he knew that this man held him at night and bought him delicious treats to cheer him up. It made the young Zhou Wanzhi's heart flutter.
From then on, Zhou Wanzhi would run to the man's room at night in his oversized, worn-out pajamas.
Zhou Zhicheng loved teasing him. He even bought a cat teaser and treated him like a little pet.
His greatest pleasure was teaching him to speak. Zhou Wanzhi's first word was "Daddy."
With that one word, the man kept him under his wing for the next decade and more.
Zhou Zhicheng's need to control him grew ever stricter. From social etiquette to the clothes he wore next to his skin, everything had to be to his liking.
When Zhou Wanzhi learned his true identity, an overwhelming sense of forbidden desire became tangled up with his love.
He ran away. When he was caught and brought back, a prenatal checkup report was flung in his face.
Zhou Zhicheng's face darkened. He said coldly, "Baby, where are you going to run off to? Didn't you say you loved Daddy most of all?"
Extra scene:
Zhou Wanzhi was clingy. When he got into trouble, he ran to Daddy to complain, and when he won an award, he had to show it off to Daddy, too.
After school, he ran into the man's office with his schoolbag on his back and his award certificate held high. When he saw a woman leaning against Zhou Zhicheng, his eyes turned red.
But he knew the man's temper. Even though he felt wronged, he didn't dare question him.
Only at night, when they were going to bed, would he try to please him by moving closer and saying softly, "Daddy, kiss your little puppy."
"Give me a kiss, and I won't be mad anymore..."

A preview of another story: "Pretty Wife and Handsome Roughneck," with pregnancy
A soft, awkward male wife x a ruthless, slick boss
Su He was sold to the Zhao family to bring them good fortune and marry their sickly son. He had barely been married to a rooster for two days when his new relatives packed up and ran away.
He was a simple-minded young man with a frail constitution. His long, beautiful hair and delicate face made him look as if a breeze could knock him over. Even when he was kicked out, he was still clutching a rooster.
Zhao Fengnian had just returned from the army when he found out he'd gotten a wife: a simple-minded young man bought for five hundred yuan, who hugged a rooster and called it "hubby..."
Damn, nobody in this family is normal.
The man looked fierce and was rough around the edges. They said he could kill a cow with one punch. Before he'd even opened his mouth, he'd scared Su He.
"Hubby... I'm scared."
Zhao Fengnian grabbed the rooster from his arms, ready to start cursing, then saw that his silly wife had fainted.
Su He was taken back home by someone, and Zhao Fengnian had planned to get rid of him once he'd dealt with the mess at home.
Who knew Su He would be so frail? He was out of breath after a few steps and couldn't manage without someone to support him. At bedtime, he wanted comfort and a story, and even at mealtimes someone had to tear up his food and feed him by hand.
You really do get what you pay for.
When Zhao Fengnian left, he dumped Su He at his second aunt's house. "I'm not dead yet. Keep this male wife and have him bring someone else good luck."
His second aunt held back her temper. "So what if he's a man? He's kind and simple. He could even give you a child to look after you when you're old. You'll never find anyone like him, even if you stay single your whole life."
Afraid that people would reject him, Su He tugged at someone's sleeve and cried. "I can have a baby... Don't leave me."
Zhao Fengnian looked him up and down. "A big idiot having a little idiot? I'd have to look after both of you. You think I'm as stupid as you? Get lost."
The little idiot's eyes welled with tears. "I really can have a baby..."
At the turn of the millennium, southern China was booming. The owner of Guanghan Hardware had built his business from nothing, starting out in the countryside of Liangshan, Sichuan.
They said he'd once been a soldier. There was a vicious streak to his swagger, and nobody dared cross him.
Who would have thought a man like that would spend every day at home chasing after his wife?
Su He dodged his hand. "Don't touch me. My stomach hurts."
"That's what you get for eating cold things every day. Come here and put your socks on." The veins in Zhao Fengnian's forehead throbbed. He wanted to lose his temper but didn't dare. "You treat your husband like he isn't even there. Keep it up and just see what happens tonight."
Su He clutched his belly and pouted. "You're not my husband. I married a rooster, not you."
Zhao Fengnian was at a loss. He wished he could slap his past self for running his mouth, but he was also afraid of hurting Su He's belly. He slammed the door and scooped him up. "Go on, keep acting up. You'll be crying tonight if I don't make you regret it."
Trembling, Su He swung the durian paddle in his hand at him again and again. "Stop hitting me. My hand's tired..."
He despises him at first, then slowly pampers and spoils him as he pursues his wife. In this life, I want the gong to regret everything and get thoroughly beaten! That's the only way he'll learn to treat our precious little one right!
The gong has a pretty bad temper. Later on, he's the kind of insecure man who cries uncontrollably and gets on his knees begging to be beaten.
Theme: No matter what, I will always love you.
