Foolish Slave? The Cherished Little Highness!

During a secret inspection, the Crown Prince unexpectedly got lost in Jiangnan!

As luck would have it, a fool-servant from a wealthy Jiangnan merchant's household found him.

The fool-servant was called Ni Yi.

No one in the household, including him, knew his real name. They just called him “you” whenever they wanted him to do something, so he decided to name himself Ni Yi. That way, whenever someone called “you,” he could enjoy the feeling of being called by name.

The fool-servant wasn't actually stupid. He was just slow and greedy. You could touch his hand for a steamed bun, and even if you bullied him until he was upset, half a pastry was enough to make him leave.

Everything changed after he found the Crown Prince.

The fool-servant mistook the Crown Prince for one of his own kind and for family. When the Crown Prince fell ill, he was so worried that he wished he could become his mother and nurse him with breast milk, holding him close and showering him with kisses.

He was still slow and still greedy, but this time, touching his hand cost two steamed buns. After all, he had a family to support!

After the Crown Prince recovered, the fool-servant felt that life had grown stranger and stranger.

Only later did he understand:

After returning to the capital, the Crown Prince married him, and he became the Crown Princess.

He thought it was pretty nice, because the Crown Prince kissed him on the lips and gave him pastries as an apology.

After the Crown Prince became emperor, he immediately adopted him as his own son and put him in line to become Crown Prince. He became the emperor's son, the Crown Prince.

He didn't think that was nice, because no one was allowed to touch his hand anymore, and he didn't even get any steamed buns!

Ni Yi rested his head on the man's knee. “Father, if I kiss you once, will you give me a steamed bun?”

The Emperor got straight to the point. “Do you want to kiss me or eat a steamed bun?”

Ni Yi was stunned. “So what I wanted was a kiss! I always thought I was just drooling because I was hungry!”
