After Provoking a Brooding Ghost, I Can't Escape

Xie Fan, the notorious delinquent known throughout Linjiang City for being a menace. Xie Fan is the only son of the richest family in the city, and a late-born child who was spoiled into a little tyrant. That is only to be expected. So when Xie Fan failed to win over a male high school senior he had pursued relentlessly, he simply knocked him unconscious with a club, dragged him all the way to a basement, and locked him inside. That, too, was only to be expected. "If you won't behave, I've got plenty of ways to deal with you. Give in now, and I'll let you go when I'm tired of playing with you." Holding the necklace from around Cheng Yuyuan's neck in one hand, Xie Fan laid out his father's hospital bills, his college entrance exam application, and a letter his mother had sent from prison, threatening him with them. To escape Xie Fan as soon as possible, Cheng Yuyuan began to cooperate, began to obey, and began to pretend he had fallen in love with Xie Fan. But in the end, he still inevitably missed the college entrance exam, lost his father, and faced his mother's indefinite prison sentence. And even Xie Fan disappeared without a trace on the day of Cheng Yuyuan's college entrance exam, claiming he was giving him his freedom. Cheng Yuyuan hated Xie Fan with all his heart. Every night, the hatred kept him tossing and turning, unable to sleep. He turned his hatred for Xie Fan into the drive to climb higher. Five years later, he attended a banquet as a corporate executive. There, he and Xie Fan met again. The hatred he had nursed for all those years was on the tip of his tongue, but what came out was a question of concern: "Why did you leave without saying goodbye?" Xie Fan looked puzzled. "Sir, who are you?" That very night, Xie Fan was knocked down with a club and watched helplessly as he was shoved into a car trunk. When he woke up, the same retribution had befallen him, and there was no escape. Theme: The brave get to enjoy life first
