All of the Capital Is Shipping Me with the Tyrant

The imperial examinations in Great Qi, held once every three years, were about to begin. But the desks of the capital’s noblewomen had all acquired a new favorite: a banned book titled Chronicle of the Tyrant’s Captive Phoenix, sweeping through the cosmetics market like wildfire.

In the book, the capricious tyrant turns into a beautiful madman, pinning the newly appointed top scholar against the imperial desk and kissing him until the corners of his eyes are red. “Your essays are marvelous, my dear Lan. Why don’t you teach me how to undo your sash?”

Even more thrilling, the tyrant, the story’s male lead, shares his name with the sixth prince of the current dynasty! The onlookers devour the story, caught between swooning and trembling: Did the author steal offerings from the King of Hell’s table? Are they tired of living?

Then, on the day the Ministry of Rites posted the exam results, the entire capital was left utterly stunned. There really was a handsome candidate named Lan Rong’an among this year’s examinees, and even the cinnabar mole on his ear matched the book’s description exactly!

At that moment, Lan Rong’an was clutching the book in an inn, trembling all over. Which heartless bastard had used him as the model for this smutty story?! Worst of all... why did the name of the friend who tutored him in essay writing last night match the name of the tyrant in the book?
