A Butterfly Flew By

Small-Town Girl vs. Down-and-Out Scientist

After nearly a decade of research is overturned overnight, a heartbroken scientist arrives in an obscure town in western Sichuan. He plans to spend his life savings on a spiritual cleansing, then quietly die in some unknown spot in the snowy mountains, returning to the most primitive state of being.

- “I want to die in the place closest to the sky.”

- “Even if all that remains is my ashes, I’ll still be free.”

“The secret pact between love and death is all laid out on your painstakingly crafted wings.”
