Long Live the Wife-Empress (Matriarchal World)

Feng Xiao was an orphan. She dropped out of high school halfway through and took odd jobs, wandering from place to place from her early teens, saving up to buy a house and determined to build herself a home.

After ten years of keeping to herself, she had no social life apart from her best friend, who was away at college. One day, her friend sent her a game she’d made: Give it a few rounds.

Feng Xiao replied: I don’t have time to play a few rounds.

Her friend: ? It’s an assignment for our studio!

For the sake of her friend’s playtesting numbers, Feng Zhu downloaded the infrastructure-building game set in a matriarchal world, then played it all night. The next morning, she opened her eyes and found she had transmigrated into the game as an insignificant little beggar.

It was a time of chaos, and the land was strewn with the starving dead.

In the fifteenth year of the Shangzheng era, in a remote corner called Rouge Mountain, a construction fanatic appeared out of nowhere. Refugees who had traveled from far away stared slack-jawed at the steel-forging production lines, rice fields stretching as far as the eye could see, and impregnable granary fortresses.

Feng Xiao had only one wish: for everyone to have a home of their own.

At first, the refugees who came to join her held out bowls of rice porridge, tears of gratitude in their eyes. They all said, “Long live Lady Feng!”

Later, the soldiers who followed her through campaigns north and south put down the turmoil, making her famous throughout the land. They said, “Long live General Feng!”

After she claimed dominion over the Nine Provinces, the Phoenix Lord nestled in her arms, gathered her rough fingers in his hands, and slowly placed his own fingers in her palm. In a low voice, he said, “Long live my wife.”
