The onmyoji Aso Rei was born into the Aso family, blessed with abundant spiritual power and exceptional strength. She was the foremost of her generation and had been entrusted with great expectations. Unfortunately, she was also hopelessly lazy.
People urged her to enter public service, lamented her wasted talent, and worried about her future. Surrounded by all these voices, she was thoroughly fed up.
"Fine! I'll do it," she announced.
Before anyone around her could celebrate, she added, "But I'll do it my way."
And what way was that?
She would form contracts with yokai and make them her shikigami, giving them what they wanted in exchange for using their powers.
What did the yokai want? Money, treasures, medicine, magical tools?
Yes, plenty came for those things. But most of them wanted...
"Please spend time with us."
That was what the yokai said.
"That's not how this works!"
That was what the humans said.
1. The heroine is loved by everyone.
2. A very low-key, everyday story about an onmyoji in Heian-kyo.
3. The protagonist starts out at max level, and no opponent ever makes waves.
4. The whole novel is written in advance, with a final polish before each daily update.
