The Wicked Little Beauty Has No Choice but to Rise to the Top

A modern AU about the Little Butterfly and the King of the Underworld. I'll revise this after I come up with a proper blurb.

The Little Butterfly is probably an actor with talent and ambition, but a sharp tongue and no friends. He has sky-high ambitions, yet even after years in the industry, he's still a newcomer with not a single truly successful work to his name.

He struggles and struggles, finally landing a decent leading role, only to get into a car accident on the night filming wraps. He drops dead by the side of the road in an instant.

Our Little Butterfly can't accept this. He's so furious his soul is about to explode. His resentment grows so intense it twists out of shape, disturbing the King of the Underworld nearby. That's right, the love interest really is the King of the Underworld.

The King of the Underworld finds the Little Butterfly interesting and brings him back to life.

The price is that from then on, even his soul must be loyal to the King and never betray him.

But when the Little Butterfly wakes up, he has forgotten all about it. He can only marvel at the fact that he's alive, while strange things keep happening around him. He often has the eerie feeling that someone is watching him, and it gives him chills.

Meanwhile, the King of the Underworld approaches the Little Butterfly in his human guise, tempting him with resources while also using the wall-papering-him-with-love method to test whether the Little Butterfly is loyal to his true self.

The result?

The Little Butterfly: No problem. As long as you make me famous, I'm happy to do anything.

The King of the Underworld: ?

The Little Butterfly betrays him at lightning speed.

He can't withstand even the slightest test.

After escaping death once, the Little Butterfly has seen the light. He only wants to become a huge star.

The Little Butterfly: I want the lead role in this show and that other show's lead role too. Help me terminate my contract with my current company, then find me a decent new one. What? You can't? If you can't do that, why are you pretending to be my sugar daddy? Have you no shame?

The King of the Underworld is furious.

He had originally planned to punish the Little Butterfly severely, but since both identities belong to him, the Little Butterfly has found a loophole. It doesn't really count as betrayal.

That only makes the King of the Underworld even angrier.

Theme: Stay true to your choices.
