Just a Little Peach Blossom

After the immortal mountain where he lived was blown to pieces, Zhi Mu had nowhere to go. A kind divine beast passing by offered him a ride, but its master objected. Yin Che, the second prince of the Underworld, was born to privilege. He was high above all others, looking down on everything beneath him. Naturally, he paid no mind to a little immortal like Zhi Mu, scoffing, “He's just a little peach blossom. Bringing him along would only be a burden. I don't want the trouble of looking after him.” Zhi Mu was at a loss, lowering his head in embarrassment and not daring to speak. * But later, he became engaged to the second prince of the Underworld and became Yin Che's secondary wife. Yin Che gave him the very best of everything and treated him with such care and consideration that Zhi Mu thought he had warmed Yin Che's heart, and that Yin Che's feelings for him were genuine. Until one day, he accidentally heard Yin Che talking to someone else. “He's just a little peach blossom. Letting him be my secondary wife is already a generous honor. Did you really think I'd make him my principal wife?” Zhi Mu felt as if he had fallen into an icy pit. He lowered his head and looked at his slightly rounded belly, where his and Yin Che's child was growing. The happy news he had yet to share had become an unspeakable humiliation. * Later, as rain poured down and thunder crashed from the heavens, the once-arrogant second prince of the Underworld stood drenched and disheveled, stubbornly guarding the immortal mountain, just for the chance to see Zhi Mu. But Zhi Mu kept the mountain gates firmly shut and refused to see him. No matter how Yin Che watched over him day and night, Zhi Mu had only one thing to say: “I'm just a little peach blossom. I don't deserve Your Highness's kindness. Please leave while you still can.” - Old-school melodrama / groveling-to-win-him-back arc / happy ending Yes, it's another delicious morsel of the author's own creation.
