A ruthless, taciturn top x a sharp-tongued, trigger-happy bottom: a story about two insufferable people who are made for each other. Updates 4-5 times a week.
In the year 21XX, Earth's evolution spiraled out of control. The beastfolk evolved, while humanity declined.
1. S-rank mercenary Ling Liu was famous. Though human, he worked for the beastfolk, and he did his job exceptionally well, rising to a high position.
Creatures across land, sea, and sky hated him. Their criticism secured his place at the top of the most hated creatures list.
Ling Liu humbly accepted this "honor." After all, he had no memories or family, and curses bounced right back at whoever threw them.
Still, he was secretly annoyed. He always felt there was someone in the world more detestable than him. Damn it, why couldn't he remember?
Only the occasional image of a pair of cold eyes would flash through his mind.
He had no idea on which drunken night he'd once fallen into a romantic entanglement.
Then one day, Ling Liu received a mission to assassinate the newly appointed human Executor.
As he looked at the blurry photo of his target, the icy mechanical heart in his chest suddenly let out a piercing, uncontrolled roar.
Could this be the fabled love at first sight?
How come I didn't know I was into this type of guy?
2. Word had it that Executor Fei Xun had been transformed into a human computer, which was why he was often cold and unfeeling.
According to an internal poll, he had long held the top spot on the "Avoid unless absolutely necessary" list.
Fei Xun didn't care what the outside world said. He diligently carried out his duties as an uncompromising Executor.
Yet there was a virus in his mind that he couldn't delete.
It was a boy with bright eyes, smiling as he reached out to him.
Whenever he dreamed of him, he felt an emotion he could only describe as "happiness."
The System urged him every day to eradicate the virus completely.
Every night, Fei Xun's finger would pause over the delete key, again and again.
The interactions in his dreams and those indistinct scenes
became a private desire he kept hidden in his heart.
He never expected that one day, that "virus" would appear right before him, specifically to kill him.
3. The assassination failed. Fei Xun's hand trembled as he clamped it around Ling Liu's throat, fighting the commands his brain was sending him. "What are you after, coming so close to me?"
The bruised and battered assassin grinned, his eyes full of malicious provocation. "Go on, kill me if you can."
They fought fiercely, each wanting to kill the other. The moment their palms touched, the mechanical cores inside them both let out a beep.
"Same-source compatibility detected. Ultimate mission initiated. Host must make negative-distance contact."
The two fell silent for a moment, then each jumped three meters away.
Ling Liu stood by the window, looking at Fei Xun's handsome face and broad chest. He protested despite himself, "Too bad I'm picky. I can't get within a hair's breadth of someone I hate."
The man in the room narrowed his eyes slightly. Seeing the heart-shaped red glow from the smartwatch on the other's wrist, he made a serious suggestion: "Then you can let me get within a hair's breadth of you."
