The night was dark, and thunder rumbled in her ears, heralding the calm before the storm.
Si Hua was walking home. The gale whipped her hair into disarray, but she paid it no mind. Holding a bright red test paper, she sighed and continued striding forward.
Suddenly, a clap of thunder seemed to explode right beside her ear. Startled, Si Hua kept walking, still shaken.
"Boom!" Another bolt struck beside Si Hua. She wondered, "Did I awaken some kind of 'lightning-attracting constitution' today?"
Without warning, a thunderbolt struck the crown of Si Hua's head, and she crumpled to the ground...
She woke up in the city hospital. Si Hua opened her bleary eyes. The air, tinged with the smell of disinfectant, filled her nostrils. Before her was Xie Fu, her childhood friend, who had stayed by her bedside the whole time. She heard the heart monitor beeping, and then
"You're finally awake! You have no idea how worried we were. Here, have some water."
The boy's clear, bright voice somehow made Si Hua feel at ease.
He took out a cup and inserted a straw, and she took a few sips.
"Oh, right. Your mom already signed your test paper," Xie Fu paused. "The doctor says there's nothing seriously wrong. You can be discharged in a few days."
Si Hua turned her head and looked at the test paper, covered in red marks, and her mother's hurried handwriting.
She felt something strange. She felt... like all these questions were pretty easy?!
I'll revise this later. The author doesn't have time right now, so please bear with it.
[Content warning: Poor writing, slow updates, written as ideas come to me, purely for fun. The protagonist likes asking questions she already knows the answers to and blurting out bits of English now and then.]
Note: Dangerous behavior. Do not imitate. Being struck by lightning in real life will not turn you into a genius. This is the author's imagination. Lightning strikes are dangerous, and being struck will not make you a genius. On the contrary, they can cause fatal harm. When lightning strikes the human body, its powerful current can damage the heart, nervous system, and internal organs, causing serious injuries such as cardiac arrest, burns, and paralysis, and may even kill. There are currently no medical or scientific cases proving that a lightning strike can improve intelligence or grant special abilities. The idea of "being struck by lightning and becoming a genius" is purely fictional. Do not believe it.
This is not a power fantasy with a strong female lead. If that doesn't interest you, please move along. Thank you.
No real-life inspirations.
