[Onmyoji] A Day in the Floating World

The bells of Gion Shoja toll, proclaiming that all things in this world are impermanent.

The blossoms of the sala trees lose their color, and the mighty decline, as all things do.

The proud cannot preserve themselves for long, like a dream on a spring night.

The mighty and the tyrannical are doomed to fall, like dust blown away on the wind.

- The Tale of the Heike

I once had a fiance named Taira no Masakado.

He was proud, arrogant, and conceited, a once-in-a-century genius. Nothing could stop him from doing whatever he wanted.

So when he decided to go to the Kingdom of Yamatai as a hostage, he ended our engagement with a letter and left me behind in Heian-kyo.

Years later, he became a tyrant feared by all. Leading an army of thousands, he invaded his homeland, razed my family to the ground, and cut me down on my wedding day.

My hatred for him will never fade, so I laid the most vicious curse upon him...

P.S. Celebrating YYS making it to its ninth anniversary. Taira no Masakado BG. This man is far too generous; no matter how hard I try, I can't resist him. Lots of headcanons, melodramatic twists everywhere, amateur writing, and I'll write whatever comes to mind. As long as it's fun, that's all that matters, hahaha!
