In his second year of high school, Song Zhidu transferred to Lincheng No. 5 High School.
On the very first day fate brought him there, he collided head-on with Xie Lansi.
From then on, his life began revolving around one person:
The crowds dispersing after morning exercises, "chance encounters" at the end of the hallway, and countless stolen glances disguised as casual looks.
The bittersweet candy melted on his tongue. He thought this silent crush was his secret alone.
Years later, after returning from abroad and starting work, he was cornered by Xie Lansi at the turn of an empty stairwell leading to the rooftop. Profound emotions he couldn't understand surged in those misty blue eyes.
"Song Zhidu," he said, his voice hoarse with long-suppressed restraint. "I've waited so long for you to look at me first. When will you realize that you like me?"
Song Zhidu looked at him, his heartbeat thrown into disarray. "I've liked you for ages."
"He knew he was crossing into a hopeless story, yet watched himself sink into it with full awareness."
