Luo Xi Has No Limits

Someone like Man Yushan, a human iceberg, is the hardest to pursue. Luckily, the word "give up" has never been in Luo Xi's dictionary.

It took him a whole year of pursuit to discover the tenderness hidden beneath that icy exterior, a side no one else ever got to see.

Several years later, just as everyone was celebrating the entertainment industry's model couple finally tying the knot, a sudden car accident shattered everything.

"Luo Xi, do you remember how, when you were ten, you traded 'love' to me for your parents' lives?"

"As long as he doesn't love you, he won't die."

When Luo Xi opened his eyes again, he was back a few years earlier. Facing his living, breathing lover, he wiped the slightly damp corner of his mouth after their kiss. "Just so you know, I'm tired of this relationship. We're breaking up."

"I don't believe you."

"What if I told you that pursuing you was a bet from the very beginning?" he said with the laid-back, infuriating smile Man Yushan hated most.

Luo Xi thought that at worst, the taciturn iceberg would stop talking to him. After all, only he knew how gentle Man Yushan truly was inside.

Who knew that one strange thing after another would start happening around him?

First, an autographed photo he'd finally gotten from a famous senior disappeared, even though he clearly remembered locking it safely in his drawer.

Then, after staying over at a non-celebrity friend's home, he suddenly lost contact with them. They vanished without a trace.

And whenever he auditioned for a role, his prospective co-star would get exposed in a scandal. No matter how hard Luo Xi worked, he would end up with nothing to show for it.

Man Yushan was somehow connected to every one of these incidents.

At last, Luo Xi couldn't take it anymore. He flung the evidence in Man Yushan's face, expecting an apology and for him to back off. Instead, the usually serious iceberg gave him a dangerous, mocking smile Luo Xi had never seen in either lifetime.

"What's wrong with clearing the weeds from around my boyfriend?"

"Breaking up? I never agreed to that."

"I told you that day, I don't believe you."

Luo Xi spent the whole night trying to convince Man Yushan that breaking up required both people to agree. Not only did he fail, he ended up getting tangled up with him instead.

Early the next morning, his hands trembling, he messaged his agent: "I agree to spend a year studying abroad."

He thought being in another country would help Man Yushan calm down. Who knew Man Yushan's reach would extend overseas?

The chat window filled with candid photos Man Yushan had taken of him and his friends from all sorts of sneaky angles. Luo Xi never replied.

Just as he was thinking that Man Yushan wasn't all that much after all, Luo Xi received a photo from an anonymous number.

Man Yushan was tied to a battered chair, covered in wounds. Dark red blood and brown mud had crumpled his immaculate black shirt beyond recognition.

In an instant, Luo Xi remembered that rainy night of the car accident. Man Yushan had looked just as battered and unfamiliar.
